This blog, "BAMBOO AVAILABLE FOR FREE (ไม้ไผ่ให้ฟรี)", will likely be discontinued this month or next but will remain online for some time. Furthermore, this month or next, the Bambusetum Baan Sammi, which had been temporarily closed, will be permanently closed. This means the garden will no longer be open to the public or private visitors, and living bamboo plants will no longer be offered.
Regardless of the above, the following activities will continue:
🔹 Bamboo culms from species grown on the grounds of Baan Sammi will be harvested on unspecified dates. Once a sufficient number of culms has accumulated, they will be advertised and offered free of charge. Ads for these will be posted on Khun Sam's Facebook page,
https://www.facebook.com/khunsam.baansammi/,
as well as in 20 to 70 Facebook groups for Chiang Mai.
🔹 Botanists and horticulturists with a deep interest in the Bambusoideae are still welcome to visit the remains of the Bambusetum Baan Sammi by appointment. Although only about 50 field-grown species of over 400 different species remain, specimen material can still be collected upon request.
