Discontinuation of this Blog

This blog, "BAMBOO AVAILABLE FOR FREE (ไม้ไผ่ให้ฟรี)", is no longer being updated since January 2026, but it will stay online for a while.

Since 21 September 2025, the Bambusetum Baan Sammi, which had been temporarily closed, has been permanently closed. The bambusetum will no longer be open to the public, and living bamboo plants will no longer be actively advertised. For further details, please refer to the next post, entitled GENERAL INFORMATION.

Regardless of the above, the following activities will continue:

🔹 Bamboo culms from species grown on the grounds of Baan Sammi will be harvested on unspecified dates. Once a sufficient number of culms has accumulated, they will be advertised and offered free of charge. Ads for these will be posted in a few Facebook groups for Chiang Mai.

🔹 Botanists and horticulturists with a deep interest in the Bambusoideae are still welcome to visit the remains of the Bambusetum Baan Sammi by appointment. Although fewer than 50 field-grown species of over 400 different species remain, specimen material can still be collected upon request.
